STANDING IN THE GAP FOR THE CHURCH

Forty days of focussed prayer and fasting 20 June – 29 July

FAITH FOR A CHURCH, FAITH FOR A CITY

2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Eph:20-23 All this energy issues from Christ; God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ's body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.

prayer corner before church ...

Pro 31:10-31 …. (20) She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy …

In Proverbs 31 we have the prototype of the ideal woman, and with that also an example of what we, the church of Christ should be like, considering us as his bride. It is not only about her relationship to her husband and caring for him and the family but also serving the poor and needy. (In the translation from the Hebrew the word poor includes depressed in mind or circumstances)

Eph 6:10-12 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. (11) Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Too often we are focused on what we see and forget that these things are results of what is going on in the spiritual rooms. Therefore we need the God to open our eyes to be able to observe this bigger picture and have the awareness that:
Our fight is NOT in OUR strength and with OUR weapons. It is in the strength we get from God, the power we have when we are in him. The equipment we have to use in order to conquer is the one given by God.
